Castle Hayne

Did Castle Hayne really have a castle at one time?  In the 1700’s, Captain Roger Haynes purchased 1,000 acres of land on the northeast branch of the Cape Fear River.  Over the next couple of years, he built a massive Georgian plantation home, which he called his castle!

Castle Hayne is home to General Electric Aviation, which is one of the largest employers in the Wilmington, NC area.  Castle Hayne offers a rural feeling to its homeowners, while still remaining close to Wilmington and nearby beaches.
