Beaches - Bald Head Island

Bald Head Island is remote and accessible only by private boat or ferry.  It has approximately 10,000 pristine acres of beach, marsh, and maritime forest.  Bald Head Island is nationally known for its sea turtle nesting activity.  There are approximately 30 miles of sand bars known as Frying Pan Shoals, which seasonally emerge from and subsequently retreat into the sea.  Bald Head Island is enjoyed by residents as well as vacationers as a seasonal retreat.
